Sometimes in a private setting a student and teacher may be isolated from the whole musical community. Having a communication with other musicians and being present at different venues allows for more exposure and understanding of performance and music under different circumstances.

I posted this to get some insight in wheather or not students are members of bands, take part in ensembles, play in duets/trios/etc, accompany or collaborate with singers (Lieder), etc.

Its great fun to get together with other musicians and work with them ... sometimes it is an area that is put to the back of the mind in the piano education world.
