I'm kind of intrigued with organs. Someday I'll meet on and make friends with it.

Between last post and this one I have met and made friends with an organ. Kind of a brain drain to play, but still pretty cool! :) Since we were on the topic of parents... are your parents supportive of your music? What part did they play in getting you started?

okay...I never cease to find new ways to make music puns. It's horrible! i'll just be talking or writing and I'm thinking "o shoot. that was a pun. and a sorry one. I hope they didn't think i was trying to make a joke!" lol

Two grand! That must be wonderful!

My family is somewhat musical, my mum took piano for a few years but was forced to quit when my grandparents sold the baby grand (they were moving to a really little house) Both of my great-grandmothers on my mother's side were concert pianists, so they wanted her to play. Aside from singing in church, nope.

My parents were the ones to start me playing, when I was 6-7 they gave me a little electric piano for christmas. I started lessons a few years later, and have been playing ever since.

Welcome to the board pianolover :) How long have you been learning? What made you decide to have lessons?

I have been learning to play piano for about a year and a half...what inspired me to play im not sure it just hit me one day.."hey it would be cool to learn how to do this..." and i found one of my stepfathers old novice piano book and started teaching myself after a month later my stepdad said i was doing so well and decided to let me take lessons..this was definately one of the best decisions ive made.

I don't think it really matters if you have a musical family at all i mean everything has to start somewhere and im the type of person who believe great things happen all at once so i think anyone that is determined can play just as well if not better than people with a musical family.
