Discuss the piano literature and how to teach and learn it

Postby Mins Music » Tue Oct 24, 2006 9:16 pm

I hace a 13 year old student. She's been playing for about four years. She does celtic music at school, but the teacher is only giving her keyboard music (treble hand with letters for chords above). I want her to develop piano technique. I've asked her to order the Riverdance book, but I was hoping other teachers may know of other celtic music. I'll do a search later, but I'm really interested if other teachers and students are already familiar with celtic pieces they love and could recommend. Thank you heaps! :)

I do like the sound of Celtic music. I don't have any sheet music or books and have not ever considered teaching Celtic music but that's a good idea. I have some cd's but I am pretty sure they are no-name groups. I'll check, though, if I get a chance and see if there are any groups or songs on the cd's I could recommend.
