Bach - a Baroque composer was born 1685 - died 1750. He is the grandaddy of all musicains I suppose you could say.

Unbelieveably he did not have 'proper' or an establised training as a composer. Although seven generations before were musicains music was in his blood. He never saw himself as 'exceptional'. Bach did not have much 'systematic' training as a youth. Both his parents died at age nine and he was sent to live with his older brother.

His brother grudgingly gave lessons on the harpsichord.

At age 15 he gained a position in the choir at Luneburg where he was to soak up every possible pursuit in music.

Several times he walked 60 miles for a musical experience.
