From the inception of the site nearly ten years ago, The Piano Education Page has carried reviews of piano and music software, learning materials and method materials. Our goals in providing these have been to: introduce lesser known products to the piano teaching community, provide unbiased, in-depth reviews of well-known materials by knowledgeable piano teacher reviewers and make judgments about which programs best fit the needs of various age groups and skill levels, among many others.

Because our reviews are always done by working piano teachers in studio environments or piano educators, they are both highly respected and influential. A typical review of a software package takes a couple months to do, while a review of other learning materials (videos, music, method materials) may take a little less, depending on their content. Our review pages are among the most popular on the site, receiving several thousand visits a day.

We are constantly looking for piano teachers to do reviews for PEP. Reviewers are not paid, but they do get to keep the reviewed materials for use in their studio. This can be a pretty valuable benefit. Reviews must be done according to certain criteria which are available on or linked from our Review Procedures page. These criteria not only provide a framework for the review, but help the teacher cover as many of the relevant topics as possible. You can find general information on authoring for PEP on our Site Policies page and more detailed information on our Information for Piano Education Page Authors page. Generally, we want to get the review in about two months (sooner, if possible) from the time the materials are sent to the reviewer.

If you are a piano teacher or professor, reside in the U.S., have the time and would like to see your reviews displayed worldwide on PEP, I would like to hear from you. You can send me an e-mail or PM or post here or use our Feedback page to contact me. Reviewing for PEP is hard work, but can be very rewarding. Let's talk!
